Be Polite To Achieve Greater Success

Do you notice most successful people are also the polite ones?

Welcoming

These are the people who make everyone feel welcomed to join the conversation, whether it was at in-person events or on a virtual networking event.  They excuse themselves from their current conversation to focus on the person joining the group who may seem a bit uncertain and yes we can tell even on cam.  The chat feature helps to send a direct message to welcome the person and to guide them as necessary.

Listening

When conversing with a polite person, they tend to listen a whole lot more. You feel very good about a great discussion and then you realize you do not know much about this person. Letting the other person talk is a polite way of building a good long-term relationship.  When listening, polite people focus on the conversation and do not jump to conclusions, form their own opinions as they think about their response.   They simply listen.

Polite people bring up the tough conversations that no one else seems to want to touch. They do this in such a way that is non-threatening, yet bring the difficult situation into light, deal with it in a very nice way so everyone feels better it was addressed.

Open-Minded

They do not insist on their opinion and may offer it as a suggestion to consider. This leads to a very interactive and creative discussion.  When you are open-minded with the other person, you can dive deeper into many different topics and feel safe.

Today, more than ever, it is important to be both courteous and open-minded to others, feelings and well-being.  We are here to help each other as we get through this pandemic.

Be Polite, Always

Polite people never stop being polite. That is just who they are. We all know people like this and we welcome them in our circles.  Be polite to one another, always.
