5 Qualities of Successful Teams

What qualities do successful teams have?

These are 5 qualities The AlphaKORians' demonstrate every day.

1.  Collaboration

Working together on projects, whether they are client-driven or company-driven, the Team seeks input and expertise from each other as required to complete tasks.

Words such as "I" and "Me" are not part of the AlphaKOR vocabulary and truly reflects the definition of Collaboration, which is "We".

2.  Diverse Skillset and Personalities

If everyone on the team had the same skillset and the same personality, it would be difficult to provide such a wide range of services.   Specialty and focused skillsets set apart a successful team.

Blending many different types of personalities by working together result in a very successful results.

3.  Dedication

Each and every member of the team must be committed to the rest of the team.   This means helping each other to stay focused and to keep moving in the right direction.   Dedication to oneself in always delivering the best they have to offer.

4.  Integrity

No question integrity is an essential component and must be present at all times.   Having integrity as individuals and as a team is not an option.   Sometimes walking away is the answer if it is going to compromise integrity.

5.  Trust

Teams must have trust amongst each member and in the overall team.  When there is any mistrust, it needs to be addressed and resolved immediately.  Trust in yourself and in your team makes for achieving great results.

We recently had an Open House at AlphaKOR to celebrate our new offices and to celebrate over 20 years in business.   The AlphaKOR team throughout the planning, open house and post-event demonstrated all five qualities.   With this being said, the event went very smooth surpassing our expectations of the number of guests who joined us.

Meet the AlphaKORians: An Unparalleled Team!

Over the years, we have been asked "What does AlphaKOR mean?"  The answer is the AlphaKORians:   An Unparalleled Team!

The AlphaKORians are dedicated.   They are committed in relentlessly providing excellent service consistently.  They have integrity.  We cannot thank them enough!

As we celebrate our new campus on June 18th with an Open House, we are grateful to all our supporters who have been loyal along the way.

To achieve this success, there is a Team who must take responsibility by executing each and every day.  In our case, it is actually 24 hours a day, every day of the week and every Holiday.   No exceptions!

The AlphaKORians demonstrate excellent teamwork as many projects, events and activities require the  members working together.   This collaboration leads to achieving successful results on a consistent basis.

In October 2014, we added the CCD team.   This was a seamless integration of the new members joining the AlphaKOR team to become one unified Team.

At the end of April 2015, we moved the CCD team from Walker Road and we moved the AlphaKOR team from Mercer Street to 7800 Twin Oaks.   The Team is all together at the campus.

They were instrumental in ensuring we had a very smooth move with very little interruption.  Thanks to their efforts as we were completely unplugged for less than 2 hours!   What a great feeling to walk into the office ahead of the targeted date and find everything up and running.

AlphaKOR is continuously evolving to serve the community better, both in our core competencies and in volunteering to give back to the community.  We take great pride and have some fun in being involved with many great organizations in our area to make a difference.

Some of the camaraderie demonstrated at the campus is playing catch, tossing the football and kicking around the soccer ball.   Enjoying the greenspace and the sunshine builds a strong team spirit.

Successful teams have great leadership.  The Partners provide this great leadership.  Thanks to Ali, Mazen and Shawn for moving AlphaKOR in the right direction for over 20 years!  Thank you for the great pleasure in my role to tell our story to the world every day.

Capturing those Little Details

How much attention do you give to details?

Some feel details are not important and they may be right some of the time.   Most of the time it's the little details that make the difference.

Listening attentively to details being shared and remembering them for later will set you ahead of the pack.  It's the challenge of remembering every detail when you bump into someone.  Watch their face light up when you mention something from the past and share the moment with them.

Teamwork requires attention to details for everyone to be on the same page.    Communicating these little details make great Teams!  Our Events Committee is working closely together on many details in planning our Open House on June 18th.   Minutes, action items and open discussion with the committee is going very well.

What little details do you focus on to set you apart?

Be Polite to achieve Greater Success

Do you notice most successful people are also the polite ones?

These are the people who step forward at a networking event to greet the newcomer, make them feel welcomed and introduce them to others.   They excuse themselves from their current conversation to focus on the person entering the room who seems to be a bit uncertain.

When conversing with a polite person, they tend to listen a whole lot more.  You walk away feeling very good about a great discussion and then you realize you do not know much about this person. Letting the other person talk is a very polite way of making a good long-term relationship.

Polite people bring up the tough conversations that no one else seems to want to touch.   They do this in such a way that is non-threatening, yet bring the difficult situation into light, deal with in a very nice way so everyone feels better it was addressed.

They do not insist on their opinion and may offer it as a suggestion to consider.   This leads to a very interactive and creative discussion.

Polite people never stop being polite.   That is just who they are.   We all know people like this and we welcome them in our circles.
